People – dog lovers mostly – appeared to be so shocked when one of President Biden’s dogs bit a security agent. Many immediately rushed to the dog’s (whose name is Major) defense. The Secret Service also provided more detail suggesting the bite wasn’t a big deal: One official told the Washington Post that the bite was “extremely minor” and did not break the skin. – NY Mag According to CNN, however: Major, who was adopted by Biden in November 2018 from a Delaware animal shelter, had what one of the people described as a “biting incident” with a member of White House security. The exact condition of the victim is unknown, however, the episode was serious enough that the dogs were subsequently moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where they remain. The truth is that dogs bite, and German Shepherds are a particularly aggressive breed. You hear all the time about pit bulls mauling people, but there have been at least 2 fatal attacks in 2019 where the dog(s) involved were German Shepherds.

I am going to assume that the writer of the report in NY Mag’s Intelligencer was a mutt nut with an agenda – to not blame Major for biting that agent – whereas the CNN report was a bit more impartial the way that fair journalism should be. Unfortunately, many articles about the dozens of dog attacks that occur yearly are often biased in favor of dogs, even when the animal mauls a helpless child or elderly person to death. Many times, the child is blamed for inciting the dog to attack though that is never the case especially with aggressive breeds that snap for no reason. I have seen comments doxing the victim on social media, and when the dog(s) in question is the unholy terror known as the pit bull, it’s even worse. There are thousands, perhaps millions, of delusional people out there that will defend any dog to their death, even when that dog has killed an innocent baby or an elderly person who couldn’t properly defend her or himself.

DogsBite.org is an excellent educational website whose aim is to teach the ignorant masses about dogs and their dangerous behavior. They are not advocating for the killings of all dogs, and are not even anti-dog as many mutt nutters would declare. They are simply trying to deprogram all of you who have been conditioned by various media outlets into believing that dogs are ‘man’s best friend (fiend, I say)’, that dog = god (which is only true in the English language, by the way), and that dogs show us ‘unconditional love’. Here’s what the organization discovered researching the past 15 years, as well as an analysis of 2019:

• 48 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2019. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 900 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 69% (33) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up about 8% of the total U.S. dog population.
• During the 15-year period of 2005 to 2019, canines killed 521 Americans. Two dog breeds, pit bulls (346) and rottweilers (51), contributed to 76% (397) of these deaths. 35 different dog breeds were involved in the remaining fatal dog maulings.
• In 2019, the combination of pit bulls (33), American bulldogs (1), rottweilers (4) and mastiff-type guard dogs and war dogs (1) — the types used to create “baiting” bull breeds and fighting breeds — accounted for 81% (39) of all dog bite-related deaths.
• Mixed-breeds had the second highest death rate in 2019, involved in 6 deaths; pit bulls participated in 50% of these mixed-breed attacks. Rottweilers followed, inflicting 4 deaths. Three different dog breeds followed, each involved in 2 deaths.
• Eight different dog breeds inflicted 1 death, including: American bulldog, Belgian malinois, coonhound, doberman pinscher, Dutch shepherd, great dane, husky and mastiff. Overall, 14 different dog breeds contributed to 48 human deaths in 2019. – DogsBite

My fiance is one of those delusional people who thinks that all dogs are a human being’s friend. He will try to befriend any damn dog that he sees, no matter how aggressively that dog is behaving towards him. My cousin has a pit bull mix – no surprise – who simply does not like certain people, my brother being one and my fiance another. My brother will not fool with the dog – he is not an animal lover and especially not a mutt nut – but my fiance tries to get this dog to like him no matter what, and she always growls and snaps at him. When I first encountered the dog, she did the same with me but I told her right off that she didn’t scare me. We’ve been sort of ‘friends’ ever since – she will whine and paw the door when I come over, and will not leave me alone until I’ve given her enough attention by petting her head. Most animals tend to ‘like’ me, probably because they can sense that I get along better with them than I do humans.

I am still wary of dogs, though. Aggressive breeds in particular cause me to be hesitant in being around them, and that goes triple if I don’t know the animal. My fiance has two pit bulls, a male and a female. Both tend to be noisy – they will bark at the slightest sound – but the male is quite aggressive in many ways, while also being very spoiled, neurotic, and attention-seeking. He’s bitten 2 people – my fiance is one – and bit back at another pit bull that had attacked him during a walk my fiance took the dog on when we lived in another area (the other dog was loose). The other person he bit had jumped on my fiance whilst they were arguing over the fact that this person had entered our home and taken some money (he claimed that he had not). The dog was quarantined both times, the first time because he hadn’t had rabies shots, the second time because we couldn’t find the papers proving he’d had his shots. I’m afraid that this dog is going to really hurt someone one of these days, and that person might be my fiance as the dog always snaps at him whenever my fiance gives a command. Unruly dogs are dangerous.

The point is, dogs will bite. Often they bite for no good reason. It’s a damn shame that these days, animals – especially dogs – have more rights than people and that organizations exist that will fight for the life of one worthless animal than for a child who can grow up to contribute a lot of good for this world. It is mind-boggling that people think a disgusting animal that has mauled an elderly person to death is more worthy of life than the person that mutt has killed. I don’t understand dog lovers – most of whom tend to be White though there are a lot of Black & Brown mutt nuts – and I do not pretend to comprehend how anyone can blame a newborn for being mauled to death by an animal that does nothing good for humanity, despite those who claim that animals provide ’emotional support’. Dogs will attack their owners even when that person has treated them better than they have their own children, the way that my fiance’s pit bull has attacked him (the dog bit him in the face and he still has the scar to prove it).

Nancy Burgess-Dismuke, 52-years old, suffered horrific injuries and died after a wrestling game with her two dogs turned into a violent attack. Neighbors heard her cries for help and came to her aid. They found one dog latched onto each of her arms tearing into her flesh, “eating her.” Denzel Whiteside grabbed a blunt axe and William Long a crankshaft and started striking the dogs. By the time they got the dogs off her, Whiteside said, “One arm was already bit completely off, the other arm was barely hanging on by a piece of meat.” She was rushed to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she later died. Senior Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said the victim suffered “multiple, extremely severe, dog bites to her upper extremities resulting in a large volume of blood loss.” Katora Strickland, the victim’s niece, said the two were inseparable. Strickland stated on social media that one of the boxer-mixes, a male, had attacked Burgess-Dismuke in the past, but her aunt still loved the dog and would not put it down. Her aunt still loved the dog even after it had attacked her! This is the same way my fiance is over his male dog. He treats that mutt better than he did his own child – who visited us a few years ago, but all my fiance would do was shower his dog with attention and mostly ignore the kid, who wound up returning to the state his mother had raised him in. The male mutt receives far more attention than the female, which irks the hell out of me. I don’t favor one cat over the other, and try to give each pet the attention s/he desires. My fiance definitely shows favoritism even though he claims he does not. The female dog has never bitten anyone, not once. She once attacked two loose dogs that tried to come into our yard when we were temporarily living in the (unfortunately conservative) county that my fiance hails from, that’s it. This is not to say that she won’t ever bite someone – but she is not as aggressive as the male. Still, a dog’s a dog. I may not love the dogs the way my fiance does, but I do care about them. However, should they ever attack me they will be put down immediately. That is how it should always be.
